Established in 2019 in memory of Walter C. Hobson affectionately known as the Doctor of Dry Cleaning the Foundation carries forward his commitment to service, opportunity, and the Buffalo community.

We are proud to award annual scholarships to outstanding students at P.S. 197 Math, Science & Technology Preparatory School. These scholarships recognize hard work, encourage continued learning, and help young people take the next step toward their goals.

Mayor Byron Brown Visits Hobsons
As part of Buffalo’s Small Business Saturday feature, Mayor Byron Brown visited Hobson’s Dry Cleaners to recognize its service and lasting presence in the community.
The Community Celebrates Walter C. Hobson Day
On February 2, 2019, officials from Erie County, the City of Buffalo, and Western New York declared Walter C. Hobson Day in recognition of his life, accomplishments, and service.
The occasion continues to be celebrated annually by members of the local community.
Supporting Local Partnerships
The Foundation proudly supported the Manna Culinary Group and Northland Workforce Training Center. Bonnie Hobson and family joined the first annual New Year’s Day Gospel Jazz Brunch in celebration of this community partnership.
